I didn’t know there was a supposed “issue”. Is it just the law now that every single camera released has to have some sort of alleged auto-focus flaw?!

Well, yes, every camera that comes out has auto-focus ‘issues’, otherwise known as idiot users, but the D800 actually does have a problem. Well, some: mine looks okay. Nikon have a fix for it that they’ll apply but they’re refusing to acknowledge it officially, seemingly.

The problem is that the left side autofocus points are not working right. Apparently the camera uses tables of data during autofocus and they’re set up in the factory but in some D800’s they’re wrong. The fix should just be to recalibrate them.
