4th post this year, I'm doing well.

I went out to the shop to buy some Bru and it was freezing cold. For some reason this inspired to me to write an entry. I thought up loads of things to say, exciting pieces full of information and so well written they'd make you cry, then I sat down and it's all gone. Ah well, you'll just have to put up with this.

Some git stole my stuff. Yes, MY stuff. ALL of it. My camera, my game boy, my jacket, my bag (with all my badges on it), my school certificates, my degree parchment, my birth certificate (although someone found it at Springfield Quay and handed it into the police station), a bunch of cow stickers and lots of other things. I can't be bothered explaining it all now, but suffice to say that it was all crammed into my bag which was left in the back seat of a car which was then broken into. I can hear the cries of idiot already, but y'know, we all do stupid things from time to time, and the bag was stuffed down between the seats and (probably) had a jacket hiding it. Luckily the house insurance covered it all so I've got the money back.

I've been offered a job, for next week only, helping in the Tramway Theatre with sound. Apparently they could do the work with three people, but the boss said they should have 4 and someone went on holiday. So I'm employed for a week. It means I have to sign off work and then re-apply for unemployment benefit after.

CMS is going into the Town Hall tomorrow too. This will be the first show in god knows how many years that I'll have not been able to make most of the first week in the hall. We're doing Return to the Forbidden Planet and the set is pretty bare. Somewhat reminiscent of Godspell (same director).

I watched Ghost World earlier this evening... I can't decide about it. I think that overall I liked it. It was kinda cool without being irritatingly over the top (Moulan Rouge) or trying too hard and ending up just shite (Tomb Raider). It's a "coming of age" film (so I'm told) about two girls who have just finished high school, although, to be honest, it's about one girl who's got a friend. Or two. They're outsiders in their school (freaks and wierdos as they like to think) then, once they finish high school, the best friend turns into a "normal" person, working and all that jazz, and our protagonist discovers she doesn't really fit in anywhere... More or less... I dunno if it's worth watching... It probably is.

I also watched Amélie the other day. Now it's definately worth watching. A French film about a girl. (so what if it's French!? I've yet to see a French film I hated!) Probably another coming of age movie... Anyway, this one is overtly cool, and pulls it off nicely. Yet again the heroine of the piece is an outsider, doesn't fit into society, however she finds herself surrounded by outsiders and finally finds love in some wierd guy who hangs about photo booths... Aaaanyway, go borrow/rent/buy/steal it. (I borrowed both of them)

Got myself a new guitar strap. It's a kinda checkerboard pattern. I'm trying to get in touch with my Two-Tone (2nd wave) ska side... It's a shame there's not really any Two-Tone ska bands that I like particularly...

My next purchase will be a pork-pie hat. ;)

Also got myself a distortion pedal. It's slightly different to the distortion in my amp (by slightly I mean completely) and is pretty cool. The Rat by ProCo, big black box with 3 big knobs (with glow in the dark markings) and a small switch. Pretty sturdy bit of kit.

I think my guitar playing is improving over time, as you would expect. I can now almost play a G chord (shock horror!) which doesn't sound too impressive, but I've not really been practicing "proper" chords much. (read as "at all")

Go see Insomnia, if it's still out. Cool film about a cop who goes to Alaska to help the local police with a murder inquiry but who ends up in deep trouble.

Lots of big bangs going on outside, I guess we're coming up to November the 5th already.

Well, I think that's all for now. Hopefully I won't leave it as long next time. *waves*
