Well, as you can no doubt tell I've FINALLY got round to getting this in a nice order for reading off the web. Not sorted planarchives, but that'll be a bit more effort.
I emailed Netgear about the FA312 and they said it only works in PCI 2.2 motherboards. PCI 2.2 seems fairly new, so I'm pretty sure my mobo doesn't support it. :(
I guess I'll have to either get a shitty cheap ass RTL WOL card or get a more expensive one...
I've been looking at apples new G4 cube thingy, (www.apple.com/powermaccube or summat) and I'm not greatly impressed...
Sure, it's a fair machine, but it's just not that nice to look at... Well... better than a grey box, but IMO the G4 is much nicer and almost anything that SGI (www.sgi.com ;) make beats any apple machine hands down.
It also seems to be somewhat targetted at gamers... I'm afraid 1.5GB of ram ISN'T actually what gamers want these days, they want damn fast gfx cards and they've given them a Rage 128...
It'll probly make a nice wee box for the office or home office, but it certainly isn't what I'd want.
And there's the slight problem of Mac OS... ;)
